The NordicAST study on automated AST systems is now published in APMIS

The results from The NordicAST study on automated AST systems are now published in APMIS and available online.

The study showed that even though the automated systems function quite well compared to gold standard broth microdilution for some strain-antibiotic combinations, they unanimously have severe shortcomings for others. The shortcomings apply to antimicrobials of critical importance in the management of severely ill patients.

Thanks to all 28 laboratories that participated in the study!
